HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

THE PEOPLE OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF HARTFORD RESPOND

 HOW WE CAN ALL HELP!

We are united in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Haiti
, who have suffered much due to the devastating earthquake.  We offer them not only our prayers but our financial support to help them rebuild their lives.  We who believe in the Lord Jesus and have been personally touched by His caring presence in our lives are now given an opportunity to make Him present through our care for others.  There are countless victims of this horrible tragedy – lives lost, those still missing, people left homeless, children orphaned, material possessions gone and people left hungry trying to fight off disease.  We must help!  We will help!

Archbishop Henry J. Mansell has given permission for voluntary special collections to be taken up for the victims of the earthquake in all parishes of the Archdiocese of Hartford.  The Office of Radio & Television and WJMJ Radio are also accepting donations that will be combined into one check and forwarded directly to Catholic Relief Services on behalf of the generosity of the supporters of the Office of Radio & Television and WJMJ Radio.

Please give!  You may donate in any of the following ways:  please CLICK HERE to donate directly to Catholic Relief Services; give during your local parish's special collection;  or you can send your contribution to the Office of Radio & Television/WJMJ Radio:

Catholic Relief Services' Haiti earthquake relief efforts address both emergency and long-term recovery needs in the most devastated areas. CRS' assistance focuses on water purification and sanitation, shelter, distribution of essential food and nonfood items, medical care, trauma counseling, psycho-social support, and the rebuilding of communities to restore livelihoods.

CRS has had a significant presence in Haiti for more than 55 years, providing both emergency and long-term development assistance. The official international humanitarian organization of the U.S. Catholic community, CRS provides assistance to people in 99 countries and territories based on need, regardless of race, creed or nationality.

“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink.”  I was a victim of the earthquake disaster and you helped me rebuild my life.  [Read Matthew 26:31-46]
